May is National Preservation Month
May is Preservation Month, a time for our community to celebrate the historic places that make the city of Roswell unique. Historic places are defined as being at least 50 years old and are examples of distinctive architectural styles. Styles may have a connection to a national or regional movement. They may have a practical design based on their intended use. Their plan or construction might also reflect a certain economic period in history. Although Roswell is well-known for its grand Greek Revival style homes, there are many house types that can be found in our city that deserve our attention. Most of the houses in Roswell are examples of vernacular architecture rather than high-style design.
